             Govt.College Kattappana, the long cherished dream of the District of Idukki, was established in the year 1977 at Kattappana, the spice garden of India, a place famous for its cardamom and pepper plantations.Ever since , it has been a lamplight in the path of higher education, catering the needs of the aspiring youth of the highranges.
            The college is situated near the lush green valley of the Kalyanathandu hills. The eco friendly campus spreads about 20 acres in the valley.The college offers five Under Graduate Courses namely BA Economics,BA Malayalam,B.Sc Chemistry,B.S.c Mathematics,B.Com and two Post Graduate Courses ,MA Malayalam and M.Com.
           The students are provided with a lot of new initiatives like ASAP, SSP, WWS etc.Students are actively participating in various clubs and voluntary organizations like NSS and NCC etc.
